Looking for a benchtop solution that's low maintenance, big on durability and a bit of a looker? Then Porcelain Benchtops may be just the ticket.

Porcelain is big on features like no other surface, and having used Laminam Porcelain in a number of projects, we’ve seen first-hand just how versatile this benchtop surface is. So what’s all the fuss about? Let’s take a look…

It Doesn’t Stain

Laminam Porcelain is highly resistant to staining. This is a big plus because let's face it - even though we're extremely careful, red wine and the bolognese sauce still end up on benchtops. With Porcelain, you can have the look of Marble or Stone - without the stain hangover.

It’s Virtually a Scratch Proof

Your new bench top may look beautiful when it’s first installed - but how will it fare months or years down the track? If you installed a Porcelain benchtop you’ll be happy to know that your super-strong new benchtop is highly resistant to scratching, chipping and breaking. This definitely gives it the Z + S tick.

It’s Versatile

Laminam Porcelain comes in three thicknesses - 3mm, 6mm and 12mm, making it extremely versatile. The 12mm thickness is perfect for benchtops, whilst 3mm and 6mm is ideal for vertical surfaces such as bathroom walls and splashbacks. Want to achieve a contemporary design? 12mm Porcelain bench tops are the perfect solution, as seen in our Contemporary Coastal Project above.

Laminam also comes in a range of styles and finishes - from white to realistic replicas of Marble, Granite and just about any other Natural Stone. It’s available in gloss, matt and textured finishes, so you’re bound to find the perfect surface for your project.

It’s Strong

Due to its strength, Porcelain edges can be mitred to produce a thick apron and create the impression of a thick piece of stone. Here in our Scandi Kitchen, we mitred the benchtop to create the impression of a 100mm stone slab.

It’s Resistant To Heat

Benchtops are designed to be used, and in the Kitchen this means heat! Hot pots and pans, serving bowls and oven trays are a daily fact of life, so it’s a good thing that Porcelain is highly resistant to heat - 200 degrees Celsius in fact! This means you can essentially lift your pan off the cooktop and plonk it straight down on the bench top without a second thought #howconvenient

No Sealing Required

Unlike Natural Stone, which requires sealing every 6 - 12 months, there's no need to seal Porcelain. This is because Porcelain is non-porous, which makes it highly resistant to staining. A benefit that you’ll appreciate year in, and year out!
